Mark Persyn was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1960. After graduating from The University Of Texas @ San Antonio with a bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, he began a career as an airbrush illustrator. For the next 17 years he created illustrations for clients such as Pepsi Cola, Sea World, Blue Bell Creameries, Corona Brewing Company, Time Warner Cable And Southwest Airlines. By 1995, computers became advanced enough that Mark began rendering his illustrations digitally.
In 1999 Mark and his family moved to Marble Falls Texas where they purchased an old building on the historic Main Street and he and his wife, Lisa, opened an eclectic gift store. Mark used the store as a studio/gallery to create and sell paintings in oil. Mark's painting style is realism and is achieved entirely with a painting knife. The small, thick colorful strokes of paint blend together at a distance in a technique known as "optical blending".
These days Mark splits his time between fine art, illustration & a wholesale business which sells products made from his art.
