| PAINTING TECHNIQUE |

I start my paintings with a tight sketch on the canvas with a Berol Prismacolor burnt umber colored pencil.

Next, I paint the entire canvas with a transparent color to form the underpainting. On this painting, I used cadmium red light. Once the underpainting color is dry, I begin painting in small sections allowing the underpainting color to show through the entire piece to add warmth and unity.

| Here is the finished 30"x 40"painting entitled "Place Of Reverence". It depicts a cowboy from Burnet, Texas pausing along a trail above the Devil's Waterhole on Inks Lake.
