BIOGRAPHY & CONTACT INFO

I start my paintings with a tight sketch on the canvas with a Berol Prismacolor burnt umber colored pencil.

Next, I paint the entire canvas with a transparent color to form the underpainting.  On this painting, I used cadmium red light.  Once the underpainting color is dry,  I begin painting in small sections allowing the underpainting color to show through the entire piece to add warmth and unity.

Here is the finished 30"x 40"painting entitled "Place Of Reverence".  It depicts a cowboy from Burnet, Texas pausing along a trail above the Devil's Waterhole on Inks Lake.
